I grew up in West Marin near Point Reyes National Seashore. I attended high school in San Francisco and college at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. After receiving my teaching credential, I moved to Peru to teach children and adults in the small town where my grandfather was born. Upon returning to the United States in 1996, I began teaching for the San Francisco Unified School District. I have experience teaching every grade level, from kindergarten through eighth grade. I received my Masters Degree in Administration in 2008 from San Francisco State University. I was a teacher at Lafayette Elementary and served as interim Principal before taking the position of Principal.
I am a firm believer that only happy students can make the most of the time spent in school. As such, our foundational goals for all Lafayette students are that they enjoy a positive elementary school experience, develop close friendships, and leave our school with a love of learning and a curiosity for the world.
Children thrive at Lafayette Elementary. Our talented and experienced teachers provide their students with purposeful instruction in a well articulated, challenging curriculum. Lafayette students are instructed in the core subjects of English language arts and mathematics as well as science, art, music, and physical fitness.
When I am not here at the school, you can find me spending time with my wife, Mariah, and my daughters, Kai, Luca and Ava. We often spend time in Point Reyes hiking, biking, and exploring the seashore. In the summertime, we love to travel. We’ve enjoyed traveling to Argentina, Brazil and Central America. We also love to take camping trips in California’s national and state parks.
