It’s that time of year! Scripts are being read, music choreographed, and costumes and sets being discussed! The crew is very excited. Kezar Fun Run This Saturday (Nov. 19)

This Saturday is the Fun Run at Kezar Stadium!! Pre-registration ended today. However, registration will continue on race day starting at 9:00am during warm ups. Come out with the family for a day of healthy exercise while supporting our school, students, and wonderful teachers. There will be a post-race picnic in the meadows outside of Kezar Stadium.   Race t-shirts for all families who registered by last week Thursday will be delivered to your child’s classroom this week.   Pledges for those children who are running in the pledge-per-laps run or walked race are due back to school on Monday, November 28th, after the Thanksgiving Break! Return pledges to: Front Office PTA folder or your child’s teacher’s PTA Envelope.   Each child will receive a certificate of completion after the race with the number of laps completed indicated on the certificate. Please encourage family and friends to be generous with their donations over Thanksgiving Break.  The three students with the highest amount raised in pledges will each get a turn being Principal for the Day.  Students raising over $50 in pledges will get a stainless steel water bottle.  Students who raise over $100 in pledges will be entered into a raffle to win 4 rounds of golf at the Presidio Golf Course. Book Fair Is Coming (November 14-18)

The Book Fair is almost here! All Lafayette school children will visit the Book Fair once with their class, and it’s our goal that every child will leave with a new book. Parents, friends, and family are welcome to visit Book Fair, too! It runs from November 14th through the 18th. Volunteer In order for the Book Fair to be a fun event for everyone we need volunteers. Dear Lafayette Families, As the newly elected PTA president, it is my pleasure to welcome you all back to Lafayette for the 2016-17 school year. I look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting our incoming families in the upcoming weeks. I have every confidence that this is going to be another outstanding year at Lafayette.   There are a lot of new and exciting things happening at Lafayette this year! Starting with several new additions to our teaching staff.  We wish our veteran teachers, Mrs. Alexandra Jeffrey and Ms. Debra Ferreir, all the best in their retirements and bid a fond farewell to Ms. Chelsea Roberts- 3rd Grade, Mr. Jimmy Simpson- Outdoor Education and our Special Education Team of Ms. Dawn Ehret and Ms. Rhoda Schwartz as they pursue new teaching endeavors. Stop, Drop and Go Needs 5 Volunteers Each Morning

Hello Lafayette Community! We hope you are having a wonderful summer. School is just about ready to start back up on August 15 and Stop, Drop & Go is ready to rock and roll. All we need are volunteers. If you’ve volunteered before, you know what to do. If you are new to our community, here’s what we do: Stop, Drop & Go is a valuable program to keep our kids safe during the morning drop off. We need 5 volunteers every morning each week to show up at 7:30 a.m. to set up cones and to help move children quickly and safely from car to school. During the first four weeks of school, we have an open rotation and need you to help. Outside Lands Parking Fundraiser: Volunteers Needed for 2-3 Hour Shifts

We could still use some help with the upcoming Outside Lands Parking Fundraiser. We are looking really good and have quite a bit of sign-ups already. Just a few more open spots to fill, mostly later in the day, and we will be ready to go. This is one of our biggest, and easiest, fundraisers of the year. Please consider signing up for a shift and help us to raise much needed funds for our school. Last year we raised *$16,000.00 which funded our Outdoor Science teacher for the entire year! Greetings Wonderful Lafayette Families, It is difficult to believe that we are down to our last few weeks of school.  That being said, there is a lot happening at Lafayette in this short time.  Today the 5th grade students go to Harding Park for golf and the 3rd graders head to ATT park to watch the Giants take on Toronto Blue Jays. Tomorrow is Science Fair Day.  After school between 2 and 4:30 parents are invited to come in and see all the science-based projects and activities that students have engaged in this school year.  Please come and support our Lafayette students.  Snacks provided. Remember that tonight is our last PTA meeting.  We will begin at 6:30 tonight instead of 7 PM.    We will be saying farewell to our dynamic PTA officers who are all terming out this year.  It has been a pleasure to work with all of them over the past two years.  Hope to see you all there. PTA Meeting and Parent Seminar this Wednesday

Our next PTA meeting is this week, Wednesday, April 13 from 7:30 pm-9 pm in the cafeteria. All are welcome and encouraged to come and hear about upcoming events.
