Grant Writing

Our purpose is to write grant proposals to raise additional funds for Lafayette. We search for grants online or through word of mouth and collaborate to write them, editing over e-mail primarily. To date, we have focused on acquiring funding for a new playground and a new computer lab. We are always searching for new leads to grants so please contact us with your ideas.
Some of the current projects are: application for a grant to build a new 2500sf playground at Lafayette this Spring! The next step is for the District to approve the contract. Then we need to raise additional funds for the District required rubber playground surface.
Our goal is to have 200 parents and community members come out this Spring to build a new playground sponsored by KaBoom! and their fund-ing partner. To date, we have 93 Lafayette fans signed up on the KaBoom! website. We need more! Please sign up at http://projects.kaboom.org/projects/3519 to show your support. Doing so tells KaBoom! we have tons of people who are committed to the project. (No financial obligation is necessary to join the group.
We are also working with the teacher-lead Technology Committee, Mrs. Brown, Ms. Susie (the computer teacher), the PTA and the District to modernize our outdated computer lab.
