Welcome Message from our PTA President to YOU.

Dear Lafayette Dolphins,

On behalf of the PTA Executive Board, I would like to extend a warm welcome to the 2023-2024 Lafayette Elementary school year! I am so thrilled to be leading the PTA this year. The energy and momentum of both long-time community members and new families is at an all-time high, and I can’t wait to see what we create together.

After a challenging and unconventional few years, families are eager to jump in and help create memorable experiences for our kids and build meaningful relationships within our community. All of our beloved in-person events have returned and are being led with fresh enthusiasm and ideas. From the Donut Dash to our outdoor Movie Nights to the School Musical, we have so many opportunities to participate in celebrating and strengthening our school. I would like to personally invite you to join us — being a part of our amazing PTA community is truly one of the best parts of being here at Lafayette.

The mission of the California State PTA is to positively impact the lives of all children and families. As an organization, we have been able to fully or partially fund numerous grade level field trips, art and music programs, classroom supplies, assemblies, and a full-time STEM teacher just to name a few. None of this would be possible without the generous financial contributions from our Lafayette families. In addition to monetary contributions, our community has been able to come together and volunteer hundreds of hours to ensure the ongoing success of our community events and programs including Stop, Drop and Go; Autumn Carnival; Donut Dash; our annual School Musical; Field Day and many more.

We invite you to join us for our monthly PTA association meetings, which generally take place at 6:00PM on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. The cadence of some meetings have been changed to accommodate holidays and other school events. This year, meeting dates are as follows: September 13, October 11, November 8, January 10, February 14, March 13, April 17, and May 8. After years of Zoom meetings, we are thrilled that all of our meetings are now in-person and held in the school auditorium. Childcare and light refreshments are always provided.

We have a lot of work to do this year and I hope you’ll consider joining us to help get the job done. Wishing everyone a safe and successful school year. Go Dolphins! 🐬
