After School Childcare

(OPTION #1) Richmond Neighborhood Center

The Richmond Neighborhood Center works closely with the Lafayette Elementary School Lafayette Community to create a continuum of learning in the after-school hours. Programs are offered Monday through Friday for youth in grades K-5 from 1:40-6:00PM and includes snacks. In addition to offering tutoring and homework assistance, reading buddies, recreation activities, case management services, youth wellness, project-based learning, multicultural children’s art program, and STEAM, The Richmond Neighborhood Center also incorporates other outside enrichment providers including chess club, tinkering, capoeira, yoga, cooking lessons, art classes and more.

(OPTION #2) YMCA

The YMCA is excited to be returning to Lafayette for after school this upcoming school year!  This school year, we will be offering a 5 day a week after school program option with potential to open up a 2 or 3 day a week option if interest is high. Below you will find the monthly rates for the program for a community participant and families with a ymca family membership for 5 days a week. Below I have included a sample schedule of what a day in the life of our after school program will look like this coming fall. Students will be placed in grade groups throughout the program time and will be provided with academic support as well as engaging enrichment activities in STEAM, Art, sports and so much more!

Daily Schedule:
2:05-2:20 - Sign In/First Snack
2:20-3:20 - Academic Support Time
3:20-3:45 - Free Play
3:45-4:45 - Enrichment Activity Time
4:45-5:30 - Outdoor Enrichment Activities
5:30-6:00 - Second Snack and Closing Time

After School Enrichment classes

In addition to RNC and YMCA, students may also choose to participate in a variety of ON-SITE and OFF-SITE enrichment classes. Most off-site programs offer transportation from Lafayette to their location. The majority of enrichment options can be signed up for on the Homeroom platform. Homeroom offers the ability to sign up for multiple enrichment classes at once AND offers a free 0% payment plan!
